  • 3. The Asian American Architects and Engineers Association

    AAa/e was founded by four architects and an engineer as an organization to help Asian American businesses penetrate the architectural and engineering community in southern California. Since that time, the organization has grown both physically, with increasing membership and establishment of the AAa/e Foundation, but also influentially in the community through its programs, networking opportunities, student scholarships, and community awards. The growth of our organization is the direct result of the dedication and hard work of the past Board of Directors, Advisory Council, and countless number of other volunteers who have given their vision, time and efforts through the years.

    The Asian American Government Executives Network (AAGEN), founded in 1993, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, non-partisan organization of the highest ranking Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander career and appointed executives, foreign service officers, legislative and judiciary members, and military officers in Government. The Asian American Government Executives Network (AAGEN) started in 1993 with a few Asian American executives in the federal government who explored ways of establishing a collaborative network of Asian and Pacific Islander American executives government-wide.

  • 6. Asian American Legal Defense & Education Fund (AALDEF)

    By combining litigation, advocacy, education, and organizing, the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund (AALDEF) works with Asian American communities across the country to secure human rights for all. AALDEF focuses on critical issues affecting Asian Americans, including immigrant rights, voting rights and democracy, economic justice for workers, educational equity, housing and environmental justice, and the elimination of anti-Asian violence, police misconduct, and human trafficking.

    The Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association (APAMSA) is a national organization of medical and pre-medical students committed to addressing the unique health challenges of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, & Pacific Islander (AANHPI) communities. APAMSA serves as a forum for student leaders to engage these health issues and develop initiatives and projects addressing those needs. The local, regional, and national activities of APAMSA aim to promote the health of the AANHPI community and help healthcare workers understand how to care for AANHPI patients in a culturally sensitive manner.

  • 12. Korean American Coalition (KAC)

    Incorporated as a non-profit organization in 1983, KACLA advocates for the interests of the 1.9 million strong Korean American community. As recent immigrants and members of an ethnic minority group, Korean Americans face many barriers in their pursuit of full and meaningful participation in American society. KAC was established to serve as the vehicle through which to overcome those obstacles. KAC’s priorities have remained untouched since its inception: advocacy, empowerment, organizing and outreach, education, and multi-generational collaboration. As a bilingual and non-partisan membership organization, KAC has been bridging the inter-generational gap and galvanizing multi-generations of Korean Americans into taking civic action.

    The National Asian Pacific American Women’s Forum (NAPAWF, pronounced “NAP-off”) builds collective power with AAPI women and girls so that we can have full agency over our lives, our families, and our communities. In 1996, a group of 100 AAPI women came together to establish an organization that would amplify AAPI women’s stories and experiences. NAPAWF’s “founding sisters” recognized that the voices of AAPI women all too often went unseen and unheard. They founded NAPAWF to center our lived experiences within the broader public narrative. More than 25 years later, NAPAWF continues this mission by empowering AAPI women and girls to shape policy, influence cultural change, and gain agency over every aspect of our lives.

    The National Coalition for Asian Pacific American Community Development (National CAPACD) is a coalition of nearly 100 community-based organizations spanning 21 states and the Pacific Islands. Our members work in low-income Asian American, Native American, and Pacific Islander (AA and NHPI) communities to improve housing security and preserve our neighborhoods. We disseminate national resources locally, share best practices and advocate for community needs at the national level.  Our work improves the lives of the over two million AAs and NHPIs living in poverty nationwide.
